# Migrate an existing site

> Prepare an existing site for a Fimo rebuild from a published URL, repository, or export.

Start from a published URL, repository, or export instead of a blank template.
Fimo prepares migration evidence and a starting project for your coding agent
to review and finish.

> [!WARNING]
>
> **Alpha:** Migration is not stable yet. Treat the output as a starting point for exploration and review, not as a
> finished migration.

## Start from a published URL

```bash theme={null}
fimo migrate https://example.com ./my-site
```

The workflow crawls the public site, writes migration files, and prepares
context for your coding agent. It does not prove that every page, asset, form,
redirect, or metadata field was recovered.

## Review before you publish

Compare the rebuilt project with the source. Record anything missing or
unsupported, then use the normal [deploy and publish workflow](/docs/deploy/overview.md)
only after the review is complete.
