# Collaboration

> Invite people, set site access, review changes, merge a Branch, and publish with clear ownership.

Collaboration in Fimo has two separate layers. Organizations group people and sites. Site roles decide what each person can do inside a specific site. Organization owners and admins always have Full access to every site in their organization.

## Choose the right access

> [card] [Invite to one site](/docs/collaboration/invite.md)
>
> Give a client, reviewer, or contributor access to one site.

> [card] [Invite to an organization](/docs/collaboration/organizations.md)
>
> Add a teammate to the organization, then set site access where they need it.

> [!WARNING]
>
> Organization membership does not automatically grant every site permission. Check the site's sharing settings before
> someone reviews, edits, merges, or publishes.

## Move work from review to production

**1. Invite the right people**

Give reviewers `view`, contributors `edit`, and site leads `full` access. [Compare site
roles](/docs/collaboration/invite.md#invite-someone-to-a-project).

**2. Review changes**

Review the Branch preview and use `fimo status` or `fimo diff` to inspect changes. [Open the Branches
guide](/docs/environments/overview.md).

**3. Merge the Branch**

Merge approved changes into the target Branch. Resolve conflicts when Fimo cannot combine a change automatically.
[Follow the merge workflow](/docs/environments/overview.md#work-with-branches).

**4. Publish from the Production source**

Publish after the site's configured source Branch contains the approved work. New sites use `main`. [Choose deploy
or publish](/docs/deploy/overview.md).

Contributors with `edit` access can merge approved work. Publishing requires `full` site access. If Fimo blocks an action,
ask someone with **Full access** to perform it or update your role.

## Manage usage

AI credits, bandwidth, and schedule compute belong to the organization's usage. They do not replace site access controls.
